Topic: Uku question

Hi everyone!

I've been playing ukulele for about 4 months off and on. I have played a little bit of finger style guitar but never had proper lessons or anything.
My problem is i suck at strumming. I love finger picking but with the ukulele i cant play alot of songs because i am useless at chord strumming. Can anyone link me any good resources?

Thanks for any help smile

Re: Uku question

Hi there, great web link! Thanks!

I am new to this forum and one of my new interests is a popular one here, the Uke! Just picked up my first Uke in Maui a few months ago and I love it. I have been a guitar player for several years, so the transition was smooth and its just so much fun to play. I love being able to carry it around and just jam anywhere..

Just wanted to say thanks for that link, been looking for some type of chord book!

Re: Uku question

melon,
Glad you liked and found the link useful. Welcome to Chordie. Are you a resident of the old 'Sandwich Islands'?(Hawaii) I bought my 3yr old an inexpensive uke as toy for him and I ended up really diggin' the thing. It's  a different beast from guitar, but similar enough for me to figure it out, somewhat. Anyways, stop by anytime and share your musical goodies.

Re: Uku question

Hi southpaw!

Unfortunately not, I have only had the pleasure of visiting the islands. That said tho, plans are being made already to go back!! I loved it there..

I had the intention of finding a Uke when I made my visit and found one for like $35-40 I think in a gift shop. Sounds great tho!

Working on some tunes with it now. Have you done any recording of a Uke? Any suggestions?

Thanks!
