Re: great voices of rock and roll

Yes! I to love the ones you mentioned Dino,

Add Robert Plant { Fantastic ability to adapt his voice to any song. His recordings with Alison Krauss are wow! "Great Album"

I also loved Levi Stubbs, Not so much a rocker, but what a great voice he had.

Re: great voices of rock and roll

I agree with Badeye...Joe Cocker had a great raspy voice no one could duplicate his voice ..also Robert Plant of Led Zepplin... Rod Steward....Mick Jagger... Bruce Springsteen... as far as females...Janis Joplin... Stevie Nicks...Bonnie Raitt, I'm sure there are more I would name, but, it's early here, and I've not had enough coffee yet.

Re: great voices of rock and roll

While your changing your trousers you might want to check out some of his opera arias, Bolton has a phenomonal vocal range and can express himself soulfully with the best. so like him or not I think he is one of the best.

Re: great voices of rock and roll

there are far too many to mention never mind remember to mention but

Bruce dickinson from iron Maiden.  The notes this guy gets is unbelievable, tremendious and sheer excellent. From very low to a screaming singing high notes.

Elvis' voice will always be up there near the top.

Noddy Holder of Slade, rough gruff voice but always in key.

Steve Tyler, Aerosmith

Brian Johnston,, acdc...who can sing like this for a full world tour and still be able to talk after it?

Too many more

Ken

ye get some that are cut out for the job and others just get by from pretending

Re: great voices of rock and roll

Re: great voices of rock and roll

Hey Guys,

This was suppose to be rock singers, now maybe my idea of rock is different than some, but while I suppose Micheal Bolton does have a good voice "I don't like him", but the guy never sang a rock song in his life, he's "at least to me" a soulful pop singer, not rock and roll. Just my opinion

Re: great voices of rock and roll

The power of Roger Daltrey's vocals epitomizes what a rock and roll vocalist should be. And any thread regarding rock vocalists without a mention of Freddie Mercury is incomplete. (But I guess I just fixed that smile )
