Topic: This could be fun.

I was thinking of a tune to write and I thought with all the imaginative song writers we have at Chordie that we should the same song.Each Chordie doing one verse for the same song.
One of the mods can pick a topic and set the chord arrangement or maybe write the Chorus and everybody write a verse.
It could end up being a world record for length.(another notch in the hat for Chordie)
It would also be interesting as we would all have our own interpretation of how the song is played and sung.
Anyone game?

This has been done before in a limited way and the resulting song was recorded by Roger..............I suppose it could be done again the balls in your court so to speak .. smile

Hey Zurf,I'm up for the challenge of starting it off but I'd like to see the Chordians give us a good topic to write about.So Chordians...lets hear sum thoughts about a good topic.
I'll do the Verse and the first chorus to set the song up and we can go from there.

I am not a songwriter by any means, but an idea for the topic and the title are right here - something about the internet making the world a smaller place - folks from all over collaborating on a project.

Kap54 offers an excellent title. "Just One Verse"

Hey Roger.Good interpretation of what the world was thinking.That must have been difficult to do.  I'm not trying to hang one on you bro.It doesn't need to be recorded by any one unless there is some one out there in Chorieland that wants to pic and choose his verses and record it cause I'm guessing there will be a lot of lyrics.(could be wrong)
I had in my mind something camp fire-ish with some humor.Everybody must have a good campfire story they want to post.For all you Chordies that haven't posted,this would be a good place to get your feet wet. Thats my idea...Any one else???

good idea,but no  one wants to start a song. I will try with a few words,and see what others add. Here are the words. Alot of talent here.....

Sorry Russell.I didn't think you were starting cause the idea is for me to pick a topic like campfire stories(Just my idea for topic).I will write one whole verse and the chorus with the chord progression.Then others can follow in with their own lyrics, with the chords set to match the starting verse.Hopefully those that have not posted before will jump in.One song,each verse written by some body else.It could be fun cause we will all have different ideas on how it plays.
I will post up the first verse and chorus in the song writing section of board and all comments posted in this thread so we do not clutter up the board. Sorry about the confusion

By the by...Where in Cape Breton do you hail from.All my folks come from a small PEI fishing village called Miminegash.North West Cape. 5 miles from Skinners Pond Home to Stompin Tom Conners.Getting back there next year for a lobster feast and a jamming family reunion.Can't wait

From a coal mining town called Glace Bay. I live in the Annapolis Valley on the mainland. Not many jobs in the Bay these days. Lots of people moved to Alberta where jobs are plentyful. I've found good employment here and love the country feel of rural Nova Scotia. P E I is a beautiful islland. Love going to harness racing in Charlottetown and the surrounding sea.

Cool badeye.In 1983 me and my buddy went Scuba Diving out East.Went to Cape Breton in hopes of diving Louisburg but the water was to dirty and choppy. Instead we went to a small local village north of Louisburg .We found a box buried in a net in 30' of water.Dug down half way around the box,about 12" and ran out of air.Camped at Provincial Park(can't remember the name but it was beautiful there)Went back the next day(our last day) and couldn't find it.Dam...My uncle in the ministry figures its shine cause nobody would waste a net on garbage.
Plan to go back one day and try again to find it.That would be a blast.

Good Shine[moon shine] too I bet. I bet the water was real cold there. I used to swim there as a kid in Kennington Cove, It has a great white sandy beach.

I dont think it was Kennington Cove we stayed at.Where we dove was at a small fishing village that had a real long point on it.I dont think it was 20 miles North from Louisburg and the Park was Maybe 5 miles from dive site.Dont matter though.Absolutely beauty country and had a great time with all the friendly local people.
