Topic: There is not yet a list with the best recognisable intro's
This is a fascinating topic. WHY: because I only write about intros. To be honest, I think and hope to have a few answers (better: a list) and maybe discussions.
I don't know if this can be "analysed" why you prefer that intro.
I noticed a lot, "walking" from topic to topic and post to post. While doing this I saw best group, best guitar player, best song. I didn't find a topic with the most recognisable intros. They are or can be interesting to hear what , we chordians, have to say or to give comment, OF COURSE JUST ABOUT INTROS. So here is my list (not to long).
- Hotel California by the EAGLES (EXCEPT LIVE, because I have a version, live where the song starts 1 minute later, to be recognisable. There is a "Spanish guitar" intro, followed by the regular intro)
- SATISFACTION by The Rolling Stones, definitely not one of their best numbers but from the first note you recognise it.
In fact that is what I mean: from the first notes, knowing the song. Another similar Stones intro (yes Keith) START ME UP. With yes Keith I mean all his riffs see Honky Tonk Woman, Lady Jane, Jumpin' Jack Flash, and we are busy for 1 hour.
- SMOKE ON THE WATER by Deep Purple
- CROSSROADS by Eric Clapton
- HERE COMES THE SUN by the Beatles (GEORGE HARISSON, the most underestimated band member).
We will see, I really hope so, different intros. I can go on, but I won't. REASON: the opinions from others. Maybe 1 (ONE) last point. I would love here, INTERNATIONAL NAMES.
- MY GUITAR PLAYS EVERY STYLE = BLUES, ROCK, METAL, so I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY IT.
