Topic: "You Can't Go Home"

This song is one I started and set aside a while back but finally finished tonight. A better writer than me once wrote that going home again after being awhile for a long time is very difficult due to changes that happen at home and changes that happen in you.  So even though there is no place like home it is often a fleeting place that if you leave it too long you can never recaptured it  as you remember.

as for typos, you can always go back into the song and hit the edit button, i have to do it all the time, then hit spellcheck. why am i telling you this you most likely know better than me anyway, cos i'm not very c/l

Hi Jets ,

everytime i pass my home place , which was sold some years ago now

i always want to just ramble thorugh the house and gardens again. They would probably call the police lol

Its the pull of the roots Jets. it changes but never leaves.

Thanks you all - Hey daddy - I liked the Am Em because it sounded kind of folky and seemed to fit the mood but you are right. Those chords give a different sound and you don't hear them too much.

Hey Phill - Yeah, I can fix them though I give it a pretty close look prior to posting and still I always miss something.

Hey Lena - I found out later on that I still had some friends who still lived there but couldn't find them at the time. I went back again and looked from time to time but it took the internet to find them.

BTW - This Song's title comes from my hometown's most famous Son. Now it was the town where I was born not where I live now. Can anyone can guess who it is?
