My advie apart from that that has already bean givan about practice is get a 3 chord wonder song, one you know and like well and ...... welll.......practice,lol
any questions along the wat feel free to ask at anytime about anything no matter how silly it might sem.
everyone was a beginner at one stage.

Stand in front of a mirror with your guitar and strike your coolest pose. Now practice your butt off to make the sound in your mind as cool as the image your eyes see in the mirror....................That's all. You'll get out of it what you put in it.

Welcome to Chordie.
My Tips for you is to first to like what you are doing with guitar. If you don't then you won't progress.
Don't over reach your abilities this can cause frustration.
Don't compare yourself to other people who are learning (which we all are)
Learn a simple song that you like.
and of course practice alot and try not to get to down hearted if things don't come together as quickly as you expected.
It goes with the territory.
