Has anyone tried restringing one of these with lighter strings and using it as an electric uke

Has anyone any idea of any shortcomings or positives

I am not very technical but on the face of it, it does look like an option

Anyone?

I cannot believe that Uke players are without opinion!!!!

Hi Michael ,
I've never played uke , I have seen short scale electric bass guitars for sale used .
I always thought it would be fun to restring one of those , and make it a solid body electric tenor guitar??

Hi,
Interesting piece of kit but I don't think it will convert very well.
First the scale length is to long. It would be no different from a guitar.
Second the spacing between the strings will be wider than a Uke. You will need big hands to play it.
If you are looking for a conversion I would consider a short scale guitar then the only problem is finding a suitable narrow bridge.
  Hope this helps.

Right!

It's too BIG for a uke!

I play both instruments, and they are nowhere near the same in  size; David and Goliath; although they are similar in somethingness...

You are right, you'd have to be born with a thumb like Hendrix to make that one go

Ah well, time to cut down a $25 Mahalo and find some electric pick ups................!

IMHO , it would be very tight to fit light strings to a 34" scale instrument.
