Topic: starting over

Just wanted to say that after many years of playing...I'm back in the "strings" again and forgot alot of the "touch" required to make a guitar truly sing. I'm hoping that this site along with the advise of it's members will have me playing like Eddie Van Halen in no time.... <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_lol.gif" border=0 alt="Laughing"> . I've purchased 2 new guitars (electric and acoustic) and to me, the C note doesn't sound so great....is there something I'm missing? I know I have my fingers on the right frets/strings. Anyone care to hook me up, plz? Thanks

P.S. Yes, the guitars are properly tuned both via pitch pipe and electronic tuner.

I'm guessing you mean the C chord is giving you trouble. A lot of players tend to "pull" the A string down while chording a C. Pressing down directly will most likely resolve your C chord dilemma.

Give everything but up.
