Aloha Maila e na kanaka a kanikapila i ka ukulele nui a li'i. I na hiki ia 'oe ke maopopo keia kikokiko ana, aloha no 'o'iwi.

Hey this is Mamo... I've been playing ukulele for about twenty years now ever since i was one lil keiki. I'm new on here and will add a songbook very soon. Until then any questions about the ukulele, hawaii, local jams, hawaiians, let 'em rip. Au-ryte. Aloha...

Re: Ukulele Skills

wow ukuleles are so pretty sounding. do you usually just play chords or are there tabs and stuff like a guitar?

If you spend your life judging people, how will you ever have time to love them ♥

Re: Ukulele Skills

Do you think electric ukulele's are just a scam to get money, or are the worth the price (around 80-100$). I am not very serious about ukulele, though I can play it... so it wouldn't be for professional stuff or anything, just fun.

Re: Ukulele Skills

You can find them for $25 or less. Try one of those and if you like it consider purchasing a higher quality uke. Personally, I don't feel as though it's a scam to make money. They're a beautiful instrument and pretty easy to play.(easier on the fingertips than steel-strung gtrs)

Give everything but up.

Re: Ukulele Skills

You can get a Mahalo Soprano Uke for less than £40 which is about $70USD. It comes with a case, has a nice sound and you will continue to like it after you have bought a better UKe. It's solid plywood <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_wink.gif" border=0 alt="Wink"> but comes with a good hard case and OK strings and it's OK. I wouldn't go for one of the cheaper ones than that.

Re: Ukulele Skills

hey there.

my name is Abe, i'm a freshman, and i started playing the ukulele last year. I'm the only person in probably all of New Hampshire that plays it. So, i got into it because one time in music class last year, i say a case that looked like a mini guitar case, and i asked her what it was, and sure enough, it was a ukulele. All the strings were ruined, but it was in very good shape. I ended up fixing all of the strings, and keeping it. It's actually a baritone ukulele, so yeah... I then about three months ago bought an acoustic-electric baritone ukulele for 259 dollars. I just wanted to know if you had any tips at all for playing the uke, and what kind of uke you played.
