are you trying to create your own tabs?
are you trying to play a specific song?
are you using an electric guitar, and if so did you check to make sure that there's nothing wrong there?
if you're trying to create your own song with tabs you'll need to put everything into perspective. what i mean is break the song down. how fast is it, the count, the other instruments, etc.
maybe try watching videos of other musicians and watch there fingering while listening to the sounds that are created.
there are sites that you can go to to print up blank tab lines as well as blank chords.

Don't suppose you have a link to some of them?

This might help. Some of it could be a little repetative. Give it a look see and see if it works or not.
Thanks Eagleeye.
I think pickngrin means that the lines changed so they aren't the same length, eg:
6----4---6----
----3---5---7-
to
12----13---4----
----3---5---7-
if that's the case (not sure if it is) you just remove some of the "-" until it's the same length.
Most of the time if you're copying and pasting tabs onto something like Microsoft Word, the font changes, which makes them unequal. The only way to fix it is find the original font. Most tab sites use "Courier New" I believe
