Who knows where the time goes?

I am having trouble learning who knows where the time goes which originally was  recorded by fairport convention written by sandy denny. Its also on imagine album by eva cassidy. Can some
one tell me what time it's played in because i can't seem to get to grips with a strumming pattern.
