Ok, My friend is trying to spray paint his guitar
He is wondering if he should use a specific type
of spray paint!

Here's a useful page Tron, shows the sort of paint and how to apply it. Key to a nice job is initial prep, letting the paint dry for  over 3 weeks and sanding back and reapplying.
