Topic: Banjo Neck Length

I bought a used banjo a long time ago.  It has no markings indicating who made it.  It seems to me to have an incredibly long neck.  Do banjoes come with different neck lengths?  I am primarily a guitar player, and have had numerous guitars, and have never seen much neck length variability.
