Hello James,

Thank you for that quick response.

I certainly know who old Hank is. I grew up on his music and as a young boy, remember how sad I was when they announced his death. Sadder than I was when the announced Elvis's death.

My mother is not expected to live and this old song was a real favorite of hers way back when. I will now sing it in her ear, even though she is presently in a coma. I know she will hear it.I remember the tune but forgot the words and who sang it. I was veering towards ole Wilf Carter.

Thanks again,

Thomas

Thomas - It is a beautiful song - I heard it long ago but am also fuzzy on the melody. It has probably been covered by umpteen folks over the years.

Your mother will really appreciate hearing this lovely old favorite.  I have been through a similar situation with my mom.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and all your loved ones in this time of transition.

Just located a sound sample the song - it's a perky little Doris Day version . . . not quite the version I recall, but it may help you get a handle on the tune.

You were correct, Wilf Carter (Montana Slim)did do a version, but have been unable to find a sound file of his take on the tune.
