Topic: HOME RECORDING TOOLS TO HELP MAKING SONGS

Probably there are a lot of chordians having a device or tool to record at home.
Can we speak here about hardware + software?
I have a recording device: BOSS BR 600, not that simple to use. I know that software programs used to create or to improve the song you wrote, by correcting arrangements, adding rhythm, remove bad chords, in fact giving you the opportunity to make a real good sounding song.
I heard about ADOBE AUDITION, AUDACITY, BAND-IN-A-BOX.

I really want to know which is for you the best way to record a song, because I am not at all a genious to correct an own song into a good version (arrangements, corrections).

Re: HOME RECORDING TOOLS TO HELP MAKING SONGS

Doc ,
This is an interesting topic for me . About ten yrs ago when I decided to start recording some of my stuff
( for posterity??? ) I started looking at what was out there
in my price range ( 200.00 -
600.00 ) and was going to go with the digital stuff untill I
started asking people who were using them ( or trying to ) . They all said the same thing , the machine was wonderful and you'd be amazed what it is capable of .
However they still had'nt been able to devote the time to learn how to use it so they ended up sitting around collecting dust . Needless to say I went with the old standby ( Tascam 424 - 4 track ) and I was able to use
it right out of the box . Of course it has some drawbacks
you have to have a machine to mix down on to if you want the product on disc . But I have'nt been sorry I went this way ......

" Just reading the lyrics , it's hard to hear the song , but if the words tug at the heartstrings......it's enough for now........... "

Re: HOME RECORDING TOOLS TO HELP MAKING SONGS

lieven your boss BR 600 is similar to my Boss BR8 it has a virtual track feature you can splice in corrected tracks or mute out the undesireable sections, all the edit funtions pan,eq,delay, reverb are already contained within the Boss you dont have to add any software to include the song in your library (media player) record the final mixed tracts to the cd and finalize it so it can be read as a cd when you rip it to your library in a mp3 format from there you can upload it anywhere from the browser options on the page you want to place it or email it. for drums i would recomend an alesis SR-16 for bass you have that funtion in your effects onboard the BOSS you just have to take the time to learn how to get the most out of what you already have read the owners manual everything you want to do is in there
