Topic: I was thinking of you

Thankyou, Last Rebel, for your encouragement.
Here's a song that I wrote in 2003. I've done it in the Chordie format, so here goes...

I was thinking of youJohn Walding 2003

Key G 4/4 swing feel

[G]The phone rang once, the phone rang twice

I was sitting here, feeling kind of nice

[C]Thinking of good times, with an old friend of [G]mine

When he answered the phone, he said “how,s things

are you still into music, do you still sing?â€

His[C]voice bought me back, to times we’d had [G]before

I was [D]thinking of you, were you thinking of me

Remembering the times, that used to be

I’m [C]glad you called, it’s good to see you again

Friendships come, and friendships go

And, I guess, it’s good to know

[C]Some will ever, [G]stand, the test of[D]time[D7}

A [G]knock on the door, half past eight

And, I thought, that’s rather late

Got [C]up to open it, wondered who I’d [G]see

He stood in the porch, said “remember me?

I thought I’d come around to see

[C]visit a while, with an old friend of[G]mine

I was [D]thinking of you, were you thinking of me

Remembering the times, that used to be

I’m [C]glad you called, it’s [G]good to see you [D]again

Friendships come, and friendships go

And I guess, it’s good to know

[C]Some will ever [G]stand the test, of [D]time[D7]

[G]A letter arrived, the address I knew

It took me back, a year or two

A little [C]longer, to put a face, to the [G]name

The years rolled away, I remembered

Times we’d spent, friends together

Felt [C]good he’d remembered me, after all that [G]time

I was [D]thinking of you, were you thinking of mw

Remembering the times, that used to be

I’m [C]glad you wrote, it’s[G]good you remembered my[D]name

Friendships come, and friendships go

And, I guess, it’s good to know

[C]Some will ever, [G]stand, the test of [D]time[D7]

I was [G]thinking of you, were you thinking of me

Remembering the times, that used to be

I’m [F]glad you called, it’s [C]good you remembered my [G]name

Friendships come, and friendships go

And, I guess, it’s good to know

[F]Some will ever, [C]stand, the test of [G]time

[D]Some will ever, [C]stand, the test of [G]time

Re: I was thinking of you

Hi John,
Wecome to Chordie!
I just love the topic in this song. Its always lovely to be reminded that people

from our past think about us. I still hold lots of school and work friends close.
This song reminded me of a musician from my own past. Im going to check and see how his life went for him.
Dont you just love those Déjá Vu Moments.
Lovely topic lovely song.

Slán
Old Doll.

Why Blend in with the Crowd ? When you were made to stand out !
