Topic: Smoke on the Water

I'm not sure if this is the right board to post on so sorry if it is. My question is "does anyone know the settings to put on my amp for smoke on the water???"

Re: Smoke on the Water

someone told me online what he plays. Is it treble 7 middle 6/7 bass 8 ???

Re: Smoke on the Water

You'll want a Marshall/Vox type sound so turn up the gain/overdrive, just look for a good rock tone really...

Re: Smoke on the Water

I play it on guitar, using two fingers, and going up that way.STANDARD TUNING, Fingertips on string 3 AND 4, first part, going up to 3th fret, to fifth fret, and back down.
You start again but now you go from fret 3 up to 6, a short while, back to 5.
You can repeat this as much as you like.
Like cytania writes: turn on, if you have an effect processor, every knob, especially gain, overdrive.
It is almost impossible to give a decent answer, I have a Fender Cybertwin, with all kinds of amps and effects in this amp, using tubes AND digital = hybride amp.
One of my best effect processors is still a ZOOM 8080, having this for 3 years.
If you want it to play like Deep Purple, you need to know also the amps they used, and in 50% of this intro, it is played by John Lord on a KEYBOARD (I SAW IT WITH MY OWN EYES), the other 50% is Blackmore playing it on his Fender Strat.

THE SECRET CAN BE UNLOCKED, BUT YOU YOU NEED TO USE A LOT OF COMBINATIONS, STARTING WITH OVERDRIVE

Turn it up to eleven and let 'er rip!

Give everything but up.

Re: Smoke on the Water

If you want to sound exactly like Blackmore, gain around 8 and volume up, guitar volume down. I would play around, until you find something you like. Finding new tones is fun!
