While you have splendid SURF places, like the Pacific, well we don't have them.
- WHERE ARE THE ROOTS OF SURF?
- AM I RIGHT IF I TELL THAT THIS MUSIC IS 100% ROCK & ROLL?

Malibu!  Southern California in the late 50s and early 60s is pretty much ground zero when it comes to surf music.

Dick Dale!  I've got some of his stuff on '45s.

I can remember reading that the term "Surf Rock" is incorrect, as Surf music and Rock & Roll were two completely different styles. Sort of like the Mods and Rockers were in the UK.

Don't suppose someone could recommend some Surf songs? I've been interested in learning to play this style.

Yep, Dick Dale, I bought an album right after pulp fiction.
I went to that site, and it is all fender as guitar. But songs like surfin'USA, seems real close to ROCK & Roll.
