Topic: "It's Too Late"

This song, unusually for me, started with the music and the lyrics came later.

Sorry, I did rather get carried away with the chords but hey it does keep the fingers nimble.

I hope you enjoy

It's Too Lateby Roger Guppy

Intro:

[D][Asus4][C][B]

Verse 1:

[Em]It's too [Am]late, [B]the time has [Em]gone,

[Am]Should've said [Dm]"I love you" [G]again and [C]again,

[F]Alas I did [Fm]not and [C]now I'm a[Am]lone,

You're [F]gone and all I [G]have now is [C]pain.[G]

[D][Asus4][C][B]

Verse 2:

[Em]It's too [Am]late, [B]the time has [Em]past,

[Am]There's so much [Dm]more that [G]we could have [C]shared,

[F]I let you [Fm]go, the [C]fool that I [Am]am,

I didn't [F]tell you just [G]how much I [C]cared. [G]

Chorus 1:

[A]Too late, too [D]late, it is [Bm]really too [E]late,

Why did [D]I not beg you [E]you to [A]stay?[E]

[A]Too late, too [D]late, I [Bm]left it too [E]late,

I let you [D]walk out of my [E]life that fateful [A]day.[E]

[D][Asus4][C][B]

Verse 3:

[Em]It's not too [Am]late, the [B]time has now [Em]come,

[Am]For me to [Dm]go out to [G]search and find [C]you,

[F]To tell you [Fm]all I [C]should have be[Am]fore,

And try to [F]win your [G]love a[C]new. [G]

Chorus 2:

[A]Too late, too [D]late, I [Bm]hope it is not too [E]late,

For [D]me to get us [E]back on the right [A]track,[E]

[A]Too late, too [D]late, it [Bm]can't be too [E]late,

Will you [D]forgive and [E]now take me [A]back.

That's a nice ballard your've written there Roger.
I like the inventive way you used the Asus4 to C I thought it strange but it works nicely.
Well done

Re: "It's Too Late"

Thank you Jas, Toney, Daddycool and Ark,

I have been informed by one of my musical critics that I have recorded the song too slow, and having listened to a speeded up version of the recording I must agree (although my voice sounded as though I had been over-indulging on helium lol). As a piece of music, which is how this started, the slower tempo of 80bpm is fine, but not as a song so I will re-record at 90bpm it and upload it ASAP. It is now done.

Ark, as I said earlier the song developed from a musical piece which came into being from a practice session af playing chords and that particular sequence (D, Asus4, C to B) came just by chance and was actually the start of it.

Toney, I know your feelings towards synthesised drums. As I neither possess or can play drums I have always had to use them but you might be interested to know that the programme I use has just been updated and it uses wave files of real drums being played and I think that this is a great improvement. If you care to nip into MySpace again I have temporarily put a short demo piece there. It is two short tracks, one with the synthesed drums and the same piece with the real drums. OK it is still not as good as the real thing but it is the best I can do until I win the lottery, I will then be able to keep a tame drummer in a cupboard to be brought out when needed lol.
