There have been those that have placed unwanted material on chordie.
It it possible for chordie to place a few lines on the registration page for new people advising them that first there is some material that is unwanted on this site (porn material). Second advisising them that if they should find a post that wasn't deleted that it's everyones obligation to report it. Last state the proper way and who to report it to.
I understand that all the warnings in the world won't stop everybody from posting (porn), but it will possibly curve most away.
Maybe even on the opening page state that there are those on this site that niether want nor appreciate this material. If someone wants to view this kind of material then they know where they can go to find it.

Thanks to you and everyone else that is continually keeping this a good clean family site.

On the right hand side of every post there are options to report or quote a post. Click on the report option and simply write "porn" or "whatever" in the box.

P.S. How ya doin reb?

Is anything really made up of zeros and ones??

Eagleeye, this is almost imossible. If I want to put "sporn" (spam+porn) on that site, I don't care at all if they write that this material is unwanted here. I don't think they are stopped by giving extra information as you proposed.
I am curious if other sites suffer also from this phenomenon, but you are right: those impotent frustrated guys don't belong here at all. I detected these sporn since my membership, it was in January, and it will continue. We try to do a lot to ban them, but the phenomenon is hard to eliminate. You ban them, they use another PC, another nick, and believe me, I always worked as Medical Doctor untill a car crash in September 2000, had to stop, because I was destroying my body, so I am sitting here a lot, half paralysed and I can assure you it is not funny. So don't shoot me, I do everything I can to trace, ban and remove them. BUT your help is very appreciated by me. The "report" underneath a topic is there for a reason: to report "sporners", at first I discussed also about finding this, it is not worth a discussion, you are getting nervous and forget that this is a music site. I hope you want to collaborate with me. I hope I can count on you. I think the % of sporn is not high, but 1 is 1 to much.
What kind of music do you like, do you play in a group?

I have benefitted from this site in learning songs on guitar. I like to give back to Chordie.com. I recently learned the chords and lyrics of a great song off the new Bruce Springsteen CD and i sing and play it regularly.
Would I be able to share this with Chordie.com as a learning tool without violating copywrite laws?
Your help is appreciated. Ray
