Topic: New Guitar!

What is wrong with me? apart from the obvious!

I have sat with one guitar after another, and dont like the sound of any of them.  One guy gave me such a small guitar, i could only liken it to

PUTTING A SMALL PILL BOX HAT ON AN ELEPHANT. Was he havin a laugh or what?. Even brought a mirror for me to see myself with this instrument.

It did a lot for my confidence! I felt like an Orangutang in drag! I dont
have to see myself, i know what i look like.
thinking strongly now of going to the states. Bigger stores and selection.
and the dollar is sooooooooooo good!
Anyone else here have all this S##t buying a guitar.

Hi, Doll

The only problem I have with buying a new guitar is:  Electric or Acoustic
I have an electric, would like another but would also like an acoustic.
Can't afford either so not really  a problem.
Maybe one of those flat screen TVs instead to watch Woodstock on!  What chance of that if I can't get a guitar lol

Lena,
If you can't find what you're looking for maybe it's that you've gotten to good for what you've got.

Explore the sounds, Try alternating strings( one brass, the next steel,the third nylon, etc.)

Maybe try a whole new instrument, like a banjo.

Don't settle for the known sounds of the guitar, create new ones. (van Halen used to tape dimes or other objects. Supposedly.)

Someone had to be the first to create the chords that we all know. So create new ones.

If you're not happy with what you have...
Then you'll never be happy with what you get...

I am a very decisive person. I figured i would try a few smaller types!

And go on the sound and know. I keep hearing the sound of my own guitar.

I do feel they see this old doll and WONDER!! I am learning though! About how the different shapes and size matter.  As regards sounds i mean..

Only one guy was real helpful, after i told him what i was thinking of spending!

I will read all as i do. and then get back to you.

My sons have given me  1,000 Dollars to buy a Guitar for my Christmas
Prezzie. Bless them!

I had picked 3 i really liked! Tanglewood-Heritage superfolk.
849 euro, on sale.

Martin 000 x-1  600 euro on sale.

Taylor 114E  899 euro also on sale.

This last one i only played today as i was in the city, shopping like there was no tomorrow. 3 beautiful sounding guitars.

I come home this evening and low and behold. My first christmas Present
not wrapped with a big red bow attached.

A Yamaha semi acoustic fx37oc from a friend. Its a beauty. beautiful sound.
it just needs a better guitar player:lol:

I now have 3  beautiful guitars.  My original "A Vintage! A small Classic Herald.
and a yamaha!

Do i stick with these or what! The yamaha is so good to hold, as its much smaller then my other one!
 
So now what do i do?

Southpaw41L I have loads of shoes but i know i can only wear one pair at a time.
Its gonna be the same with the guitars!

I have made the same mistake too so that makes two of us (and I suspect we are not the only ones).

Not only am I looking forward to hearing your next recording on your new guitar I am hoping for a new picture of it being played for the wallpaper on my PC - PLEASE.

Ooops, sorry I missed you,

I was doing my morning patrol of the site looking for infiltrators, and fingers crossed, since Per has made alterations to the registration method and stopped the posting of pictures, it is looking quiter on the home front.

Have a good day and as this thread is about your new guitar perhaps I should ask how are you getting on with it? Also have you have chance to plug it into an amplifier yet and really let her rip.

how exciting to have a new guitar! Congratulations and may the strings rise up to meet you as you strum and pluck away!

Here's what you should do now... get yourself a wee effects box (Zoom and Digitech are very capable and inexpensive), plug yourself in and let go! Guaranteed to take any player onto another planet.
