Topic: an untitled song about what i've found to be true about life so far...
Well I figgered I'd come post a song or two out of my notebook that have been sitting there a while. This one I did really just for practice so its not exactly poetry, but I thought it was kind of neat. The idea was to put a 'everything you need to know about life' speech into a song. If you'll notice, most of the sets of lines (thats two) involves a play on words, or words that mean two different things.
If anbody else who enjoys writing would like to try this out and add some verses please feel free, i think it's be cool to have a joint effort kind of thing goin' on... but please at least leave a comment/suggestion
Srry there are no chords yet, I usually play it with a basic G C G D G kind of pattern.
There's lots of roads that don't go nowhere
But there's a few that do
You can either get the cheapest deal
Or you can get the view
Some boots were made for walkin'
But some are just for show
There's lots of people talkin'
But just a few that know
-
And some folks want to get somewhere
Some wish they'd never come
But a good man is a good man
No matter where you're from
A pot is made for boiling
But its grown for smokin' too
Most educated people
just aint got a clue
Black is black and white is white
but it aint politically correct
its like 'homo' without 'sexual'
or hell instead of heck
-
And some folks like to sing along'
And some won't even hum
but good music is good music
No matter where you're from
The devil is a liar
or a real good lookin' man
Straight's the opposite of gay
or a real good poker hand
Some people are always right
And some aint never wrong
The Lost Highway's a bad place to be
But its a real good song
-
And some people give the finger
And some stick out thier thumb
And meatloaf tastes like meatloaf
No matter where you're from
Anyway i know its kind of silly, but there it is.
