Topic: CHOICES CONCERNING ELECTRIC GUITARS
I deleted the other topic, because it was more a statement.
But here is the topic I wrote: I (re)discovered my Fender Telecaster.
I want to know if there are "chordians" who have similar experiences. You like a guitar so much, and it becomes your favourite guitar.
Well it happened to me, 11 years ago. I had the opportunity to buy a brandnew Gibson Les Paul Studio, in beautiful black and gold ware: attracted by the looks!!!!! The guitar was not longer available here on the market, because of a few scratches, so I paid less than 250$, and the Studio was at that time the "cheapest" les paul.
PROBLEM: Everytime I played a song, the guitar needed to be tuned, a real pain in the a**, and no more joy in playing a song.
So: Are there fellow chordians, having a similar problem? I was attracted to the guitar because of the looks, and I had my very first electric guitar: A GIBSON. Even in the store, a thing like this can happen.
I went to a music store, saw a PRS guitar, in 1997, while almost nobody here in Europe, except some professional musicians, knew the existence of that brand. I get 3x more for my Gibson than I paid it. Since that moment: I am a PRS addict. And here all discussions are open: what is your BRAND, the GUITAR YOU KILL FOR?and WHY.
In my case: the sound, versatility, always in tune and beautiful. But I also rediscovered a guitar, a Telecaster California Beach reissue 1952 and painted in the colours of cars, here green. The sound is amazing, if you see the simplicity of this guitar, and the sound you get. The times that you could choose between a Fender Stratocaster and a Telecaster are long gone, you find these guitars now in all categories, from cheap to expensive, if I would make a movie about the guitars we see today, the title would be LOST (but this is already taken)
What is your opinion on this topic.
