This is a song on my CD that I had an animator add some visuals to:

Richard that is excellent playing fast paced action music and vocal fits in perfect also your animator did a brilliant job on the video.

Just as a general thing - I've always been missing making videos for the music (I'm more about the audio than the visuals - MTV never ranked high on my watch list, but the music would be on), so have toyted with the idea to get an external person to make the videos for me - Fiverr fits that job. This was my first trial into subcontracting a role - overall I was impressed with the animators work, although I probably picked the wrong song for his style, and it's also a fairly long song which has problems with keeping viewers visual interest. It was an experiment that I will try again, although I think I'll use a different resource next time!

Cheers

Sounds good!!! The guitar is a bit loud in the mix, are you recording individual tracks or mixing it straight to 2 track (or mono?) ... the slide solo was excellent!!

You need a "fill light" to your lower left though, the overhead is causing a lot of shadow on your face ... doesn't have to be anything special, just get that harsh edge off the light.

Hope it helps ..

Re: January 2025 - Anything goes for FSOTM!!!

It's just a loop practice  to show the band. I pre recorded the loop and then played over it.If I was using it in solo performance I would let  the sound guy control the guitar and backing level. It's all going through a Roland street cube in the vid, but I agree the guitar came out too loud

I'm thinking about doing this song at our next club meet - Louise, by Peter Siebel:

I know the Leo Kottke cover better (although it's not played like that). Anyway.

Enjoy!

Re: January 2025 - Anything goes for FSOTM!!!

Richard you almost have an Arlo Guthrie feel on this one which works well with your guitar and vocal.

Richard, I enjoyed that, and the visual imagery definitely added to it.  I liked the fast beat, nice for a change.  I did struggle to hear the lyrics in parts of it.

Nice cover Grah1, you performed it well.  Guitar skills came through nicely on this one and it was easy to see you were really getting into it on this one.

Richard, I don't know this song, haven't heard it before.   I went and had a listen to the original and had a look at the lyrics.  Thanks for sharing, I have now learned something new (for me anyway).  You performed it well.
