Topic: Beach Woman (Her Heart Can't be Tamed )

Well this is what you get when you sit on the beach with a guitar and woman comes up and talks for a bit... and then walks away into the sun.

Beach Woman (Her Heart Can't be Tamed) By Jim Kenyon

Verse1

.

[G] I was fishing, [C]alone in the surf and the [G]sand

[G]She was walking [C] looking for shells or a [G]man

[G]In Carolina, [C] a sweet peculiar little [G]thing

[G]She was, guarded [C] by pelicans with angel [G]wings

.

Verse 2

.

[G] in the sunshine,[C] dune sands swirled in the [G]breeze

[G] She said hello there,[C]I was working hard to be at [G]ease

[G] strange smile I thought,[C] but a beautiful work of [G]art

[G] her voice so soft, [C] with a song from a siren’s [G] heart

.

Chorus

.

Oh she was

[C] an intoxicating women, she made my world fall out of [G] sight

the[C] girl was familiar, yet a little different, but it felt so [G] right

[C]On that Island, I was drawn to her yet I didn’t know her [G]name

As the [D]waves whisper a [C]secret , that her heart can’t be [G]tamed

.

Verse 3

.

[G]as we walked the beach [C] I noticed her hair had a white [G]feather

[G] She held her hands out,[C] she’d found oyster shells joined [G]together

[G] She laughed out loud,[C] then asked if there might be a pearl [G] inside

[G] such a mystery [C] she said, with a passion that she couldn’t [G]hide

.

Verse 4

.

[G] as she walked away [C]I wondered if I’d ever see her[G] again

[G]her footprints were fading, [C] like memories lost into the [G]sand

[G] I still see her,[C] her silhouette lined by beauty and [G] grace

[G] Mermaid or a dream [C] I don’t know, she’s gone without a [G] trace

Chorus

Oh she was

[C] an intoxicating women, she made my world fall out of [G] sight

the[C] girl was familiar, yet a little different, it just felt so [G] right

[C]On that Island, I was drawn to her yet I didn’t know her [G] name

As the [D]waves whisper a [C]secret , that her heart can’t be [G]tamed

Outgo:

[G] I can still see her,[C] her silhouette in the sun, such beauty and [G] grace

[G] Mermaid or a dream [C] I don’t know, but she’s gone without a [G] trace

Great story Jim, true or false, I know in your description you mention sitting on the beach with a guitar, but in the song you were fishing? Are you sure you weren't day dreaming? LOL

Phil

LOL

Actually, I was doing both.  I would cast out into the surf - set the pole  in the holder and sit in my chair and read or play my small martin that I bring to the shore. Also an occasional beverage !

I was actually fishing when she came along. Most of the story is made up, but she was definitely a different women.  She did have two oysters that somehow melded together - and she did ask about a pearl inside.   She started talking about visions and energy - saying she was looking for a sign from her mother.  She was really an interesting woman.  When she left, I was sitting there thinking about her and what she said - and then it occurred to me that I never even asked her what her name was. During the whole week I kept watch - but never saw her again.

Hence - the song.  smile
Thanks for giving it a read.

Jim

Re: Beach Woman (Her Heart Can't be Tamed )

I like that Jim. "she was walking looking for shells or a man."

Down on the coast I met a woman
Not sure if she was real or sent by the holy ghost.
It was a hot day my body was turning red
She said put on a shirt or your body will hurt
You will end up like a burnt roast
She disappeared before I could act like a flirt
Or even put on my shirt
Not that i needed a new woman
It was great she cared
Cause me to put on my shirt.
Painful sunburn can hurt.
No waves from her just from the sea
Brushing against my feet before it retreats

TIGLJK, great bit of writing there and great it came from an actual experience you had.

Peatle, a good bit of writing as well, nicely done.
