Easy Beat has put up "Songs I wish I Had Written". recently ' I like many songs so many that I can't put a number on because there is too many. But one that lyrically made sense to me in the worldwide mainstream is Joni Mitchell '"Both Sides Now.". For me it speaks about not wanting to cause to much unnecessary friction.
My mum always said to me that is impractical. but somehow it defines how we all should be.

Yes, a lovely song. I loved her singing this in her youthful days, her voice was quite high in places then. I found her in her later years singing it with friends, her vocals though much deeper, she still nailed it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxiluPSmAF8

What an awesome song, awesome songwriter, awesome person.
She married Graham Nash at one point and the song " Our House " he wrote after they went shopping one day and came back to the house.
Ironically the marriage didn't last long.
This version is very nice. I remember Judy Collins as the singer who made the song a big hit.
Joni Mitchell wrote so many songs that were huge hits for other singrs, but she had a teriffic recording career as well.

Jan, this is the first time I have heard Joni sing that latest version definitely would have to be the best version I have heard. Her older voice has a nice resonance to it that makes the more mature version have more impact.
Jim i didn't realize Joni was married to Graham Nash. I knew she wrote Woodstock the song for the band he was in Grosby , Stills and Nash. She had a hit with Woodstock also but I always preferred the G, Sand N version. I will attach them doing that song live.
