Topic: One Hundred Trillion Cells
The human body is made up of trillions of cells, each with their own structure and function. Cells are constantly dying, and new ones are being made simultaneously. On top of that, the actual number of cells will vary from person to person, depending on their age, height, weight, health, and environmental factors. As I don’t have the ability to count the cells in my body I picked the number One Hundred Trillion.
One Hundred Trillion Cells
After their gone around here there is always a song
A way of honour and celebrating what’s gone
Keeping us together
Keeping us strong
I said goodbye to many friends this year
Even though their presence might be distant from here
Some how there are parts of them still near
Close to my heart though we might be apart
When I look at the skies I realise we all move on from here
The universe is a thing of wonder
Many other people thoughts I have plundered
Not meaning to steal their thunder
The small things can often deceive
A universe its expanse so hard to perceive
I am just a dot in a picture a pen prick on a page
In the stillness of time I contemplate the things that star in my mind
When the storm rages
I look for an anchor that has been around for ages
Pointing my prow into the waves
I remember those who are now in their graves
Don’t worry about me
I’m not depressed just pushing on like the rest
I’m making the most of my life until my eternal rest
In my hours of darkness there is a distant light
That makes me not give up the fight
What drives me on is the 100 trillion cells that make up an adult body
As one year ends a new one begins
There are many possibilities an abundance in many forms that excites me
