Topic: Ah, Morning
This was inspired by Peatles recent poem "Mother with the lost child" and the sounds, smells and atmosphere of a summer s morning
Ah, Morning.
6 a.m.
A glow on the dark sky
Fading stars on the eastern horizon pre-empts
The rising of our golden orb.
Birds come to life and chirp, squeak, flutter and fly
Breakfast of worms and crawling things
There's a scurrying as creatures of the night
Keep to the shadows on their way home and safety.
Ah, morning
The sun is now making it's way towards the west.
It seems to roll over roof tops and tree tops
While sometimes hiding behind red clouds that fade away...slowly
The aroma of baking bread pleases my senses
As the baker empties his oven and stacks the warm loaves.
But that is not the only gift as bacon fries in cafes and kitchens.
Grass is being cut by a council worker in the park
The scent is heady and pleasant.
Now the once deserted road fills with cars and vans
Busses and lorries all on their way somewhere
Petrol, diesel and now electric hum
Cars, bikes and scooters pass by with little sound
While exhaust fumes still fill the air
How much longer? the inquisitive ask
Ah...clear my mind... smells, scent, perfume
An olfactory orgasm
9 a.m.
Bread, bacon, new mown grass...heaven
And I think...
It's good to be alive
