Topic: Once In a lifetime
Ok here is a song I wrote this morning - my wife just left yesterday to go to California to be with my daughter. I think I was missing her already !
I actually wrote it and then realized it fit also for the Song of the month challenge.
I chose the day of the Week bc it starts with " Monday" in the lyric. !
Once in a lifetime by Jim Kenyon
Verse 1
.
[C] Monday morning is [Em] here once more
And it’s [Dm]two cups of coffee and I’m [G] out the door
[C] gotta get to work, though I [Em] don’t want to go
‘cause your [Dm] on my mind, as I’m [G] sure you know
Verse 2
.
[C] It begins to rain, but [Em]I just smile
‘because I’m[Dm] thinking of you [G]all the while
[C] your love is like a [Em] summer breeze
You know , it [Dm]warms my heart and puts [G] my mind at ease
.
Chorus
[Am]When I first met you, you took my [Em]breath away
And you [Dm] still do it to me every [G] single day
and the [Am]way you touch me tells me how [Em]much you care
and let’s me [Dm]know that this is a once in a [G]lifetime love we [C]share
Verse 3
[C] Some times gentle and [Em]sometimes wild
It seems that [Dm] everything you do just [G]makes me smile
Oh you’re the [C] center of my life, I [Em] hope you see
God knows [Dm]you’re the best thing that’s ever[G] happened to me
.
Chorus
[Am]When I first met you, you took my [Em]breath away
And you [Dm] still do it to me every [G] single day
and the [Am]way that you touch me tells me how [Em]much you care
and let’s me [Dm]know that this is a once in a [G]lifetime love we [C]share
yeah, [G]this is a once in a lifetime [Dm]love we [C]share
yeah, [G]this is a once in a lifetime [Dm]love we [C]share
yeah, [G]this is a once in a lifetime [Dm]love we [C]share

Make your life count, and the world will be a better place because you tried.
