Topic: TUNING GUITAR FOR BLUES

My first post and just looking at what is the done thing on chording ,playing chords if I have tuned guitar on different notes for the blues.I am not proficient but can pick some blues on standard, but when I try on the blues tuning it is obviously out,or I am .
Any hints as to what is correct way to do this.I'm using a digital tuner to change the notes either way

Re: TUNING GUITAR FOR BLUES

Generally speaking, blues was built on "out slightly", if mine is out, I try using it with a slide and picking how I wouldn't normally pick - also try stomping your foot along as this helps the 'feel'. I hope that's the kind of blues you are aiming for ...

And welcome aboard!!

Cheers

Re: TUNING GUITAR FOR BLUES

Also if you’re whacking the piss out of the strings they will start sharp, so tune down slightly. I’ve found that for my stroke this means my g and b strings need to be a few cents flat as they take the brunt of it.
