Topic: The Place

I haven't posted a song in a while, mostly because I haven't written anything new lately, so here is one I wrote back last year. I call it "The Place". Hope you all like it.

[F]It could be somewhere I’ve never [C]been.


[F]Maybe it’s on some tropic [C]island,


[G]Or in a [Bb]far off mountain [C]glen.

I [G]know it’s out there somewhere.


I feel it [C]deep within my soul


[F]Whispering to me nightly


And it [Bb]has become my [G]goal.

[F]Maybe it’s not even a [C]real place,


[F]Maybe it’s just a state of [C]mind.


[F]Maybe it is a little bit of [C]everything


[G]All I know is I’ll [Bb]know it when I [C]find.

It is strange how we get little tidbits of information, an offer that seems impossible to refuse,   a few emotions roused that you never had before ,
or something catches our eye ....... and ya think to yourself - is this what  I have been looking for ?

This is fantastic, Jets ... five stars, straight up! There's been a lot songs / poems written over the years, about people trying to satisfy an inner thirst, but none of them are any better than yours. I love the lines: "Maybe it's not even a real a place, maybe it's just a state of mind." There's more truth to that than art, IMHO.

Thanks you two. Yeah, this song comes from quite a few ideas, thoughts, and plans all mixed together in my brain, but it comes down to "Where do I want to be, and what do I want to be doing". I've not been a position to do anything about either of those questions before, but I might get that chance in the not too distant future. I should have a recording up sometime tomorrow so keep a look out.
