Re: "Sparkler"

Very nice and completely my kind and style of music. I've put again a "complicado cançon" here, again. I am always too busy with licks and riffs.
But I have 1 HUGE QUESTION: if I play your tune, would it be different than your tune? I have the impression, using these beautiful, but underestimated chords, that it won't be a lot different, because of the "fast" switching from C--->F, using C7 and F7.
I have something similar.
I will post an easy chord song again VERY BAD INFLUENCED by my car crash.

- MY GUITAR PLAYS EVERY STYLE = BLUES, ROCK, METAL, so I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY IT.

Re: "Sparkler"

Hi all - Just posted a recording of 'Sparkler' to my MySpace Music page.
Please see the link below my forum avatar to go there and give it a listen.

As always, a less-than-perfect recording - but plenty good enough to convey the essence of the song.

Actually, I would love to hear Tom Jones sing this one - I know that may sound weird, but I've always been in awe of his powerful pipes and his presence as a performer.  Maybe the video could have Mr. Jones in his tux singing this wistful ballad of simple love while Las Vegas showgirls in skimpy, glittery, little feathery nothings swoon around in their stiletto heels?

Oh, and I altered the chords a bit from the original posting.
Plus, it is written here in 'C' but I recorded it in 'F'.

Re: "Sparkler"

Great recording James,

They just keep getting better.

Thank you,

Roger

Re: "Sparkler"

Thanks, Roger!  The process of recording is starting to be less difficult - but I still have a lot to learn.

Still hoping that Tom Jones can do the definitive version of this ballad - that would be so marvelously strange . . .

Re: "Sparkler"

No sign of Las Vegas showgirls yet around here - maybe they got the address wrong.
And now for something completely different:

Re: "Sparkler"

James, great song! Say, how did you type out your song with the lyrics and the chords above them in blue? Did you do it in MS Word or an equivalent word processing software program? Did you do it in some special songwriting software? I have a few songs I want to type out, but if there's an easier way than trying to get it all lined up right in Word, I'd love to know!

Thanks!
D

Re: "Sparkler"

Hi stratomac & welcome to chordie!  Glad you like this song and would love to see your stuff also.  The way to make your songs appear 'all purdy like' is described in a sticky post at the top of the Songwriting forum.

Go to the forum index and select 'Songwriting'.  The very first message in the list has the details.
The format is called 'chordpro' and it does not take any special software or fancy programming.  It is not hard to do and makes the song very easy to read.
