Brilliant Phill as I listened to your song I could visualize it being a scene from a movie. That is a top song,
Cheers
Pete
Thanks Richard. It's amazing what a bit of reverb on the voice and chorus on the guitar can do!
Thanks Pete. You're an inspiration to us all and your poem, as you know, was the inspiration for this song. Out of the mouth of babes!
Of course it's based on true events, though the names have been changed to protect the innocent? Lol
Loved this one, Phill ... reminded me of some lines in "Ballroom Blitz" by Sweet, about a girl in the corner:
"And the girl in the corner let no one ignore her, 'cause she thinks she's the passionate one."
"And the girl in the corner said 'Boy, I wanna warn ya, it'll turn into a ballroom blitz.' "
"And the girl in the corner is everyone's woman, she could kill you with a wink of her eye."
Nice work, Phill !
i never realized the similarity with Ballroom Blitz, word wize at least. i don't think people realized that Sweet were actually quite a heavy metal band guided into the pop world, before a lot of the metal bands came to the fore.
i'm glad you like my effort. thanks for the review
Phill
That was exceptionally marvelous.
Your voice changes, tempo changes, chord changes all were superbly dazzling.
Great song.
Jim
Hey Phill - I enjoyed playing it. I'll listen to you're version tomorrow.
Thanks Jim. You're over exaggerating the voice, I like the tempo changes and the simple once through unplugged way of recording.
Hey Jeff I love to hear other people play my stuff...any chance? Thanks for the review.
Hey Phill - If I can do it justice I'll give it a go. No promises but I'll try.
That was a fun song Phill, really enjoyed it, comments left of Sound Cloud for you
Phill - after listening to this a 4th and 5th time - I have really come to like this song - it is really, really good !
At least two or three times during the song I got a little whisp of David Bowie in there.
If I were to be critical at all ( and I have absolutely no credentials to actually be critical) I think the end of the song last two lines - where you go " mmmm - mmm"it sounded a little more "gruntish" than I would expect - kinda sounded grumpy or mad -.... I was thinking it should be a little more like "woo hoo" or something - a little more upbeat - excited about that that girl. ( although it is possible that you were emphasizing the fact that she was gone- I don't know! )
Again, other than that - I thought this was a masterpiece !!!
Thanks Phil.
