Topic: 3 New recordings

Hi,

I'm currently recording my original songs, I have 13 songs so far, here's an example of what i'm doing, some songs are multi-tracks, actually when I record the voice and the rythmic guitar are automatically mixed, I'll soon buy new equipment to have more control on the recordings.

How Can I Resist? : (song written by my father)

Lyrics are on the description of the videos

Thanks!

Re: 3 New recordings

Had a listen to all of them; as far as songs go, the third one (How can I resist) had the best balance and mix, although I did enjoy the Jaw Harp in the second song ...

Cheers

Curt I like your country style. I have left comments on your youtube.

Re: 3 New recordings

Neo the term you used is very offensive  to many. It is called ajaw harp, mouth harp, Ozark harp or juice harp.

Music is what feelings sound like.

Apologies - didn't mean to offend anyone - I'll edit my post.

Re: 3 New recordings

SHALOM  TO ALL MY CHORDIE FRIENDS.
Neo whats wrong with you,  apologising for what ????
I am angry reading this but honestly  looking for an answer and I am not trying to be a Schmuck or an obnoxious person.
We have the French Horn is calling it a French offensive.????It almost sounds like some people are saying to call an instrument a Jews Harp is  anti-Semitic.        Music shops here call them Jews Harp and I haven’t noticed any offence taken by my many Jewish friends.
Classical Guitar I am thinking the way to combat the perception of the name "Jew's harp" as a slur in your country is not to try to change the language, but to improve the image of the instrument. You  could  do that by treating the Jew's harp as a legitimate musical instrument and encouraging others to do the same."
If I am wrong so are the music shops that sell these items.

Re: 3 New recordings

With Chordie members from so many places and counties , not every member is going to believe the same. I respect how each member believes regardless of what it is. In the US 1he killings in11 lives  in synagogue has been and is still in the news. So sensitive I guess so.

Shalom   Classical Guitar I am very sorry and sad  to hear of  the Pittsburgh synagogue attack and my heart goes out to the victims friends and family. .

Re: 3 New recordings

Hi folks!

Thanks for the kind words.

About the Jew's Harp, there's nothing wrong. "Jew" and "harp" aren't badwords nor negative words.
Because of political correctness Apu (Indian American character) has been removed from my old time favorite serie: The Simpson. Apu was a major character on the serie, he did bad but also great things... We could remove all the characters, it's a parody, Homer is a fat lazzy American, it doesn't seem to shock most Americans, instead we're enjoying the serie and laughing about it. Back in the 80's we were able to laugh and joke about (almost) everything, do the world was worst? I don't think...
Anyway that's not the subject! big_smile

Have fun, be polite, learn from your mistake, enjoy life :-)

Great work, Curt ... you've got an impressive repertoire there ... hat's off to you! I also liked #2 the best, and the folksy Jaw Harp ( or whatever it's called) adds some nice warmth. You must be having fun with these projects ... wishing you continued success.
