Topic: Problem with alphabetical listing of songs

If I search by artist an option of an alphabetical listing of songs appears to be available but when I click on the (# of versions) I get an error message saying something about no listing for #index. Is there a problem with this feature or am I going something wrong?

Re: Problem with alphabetical listing of songs

Hello and welcome to the Forum,

The number of versions is for your information only, you cannot open them from clicking the version just select the song. The best rated song will be the one that you initially open. Halfway down the song on the right hand side you will see the 'star' rating for this version. Use the '+' and '-' to select the other versions. As you will see in the picture below I selected the 4th of 6 versions of this song:

Re: Problem with alphabetical listing of songs

As a regular user of the site, I've got to say this is probably the most confusing aspect of the songs ... and since I've found it, I generally find #2 or #3 are better than the first one offered - is there any way we can push up the ratings so the 'best' song appears in the first position, or are these ratings pulled from the external sites?

Also wonder whether it might be worth having a "?" in that panel and some "hover help" as I've seen this question asked a few times, and wonder how many people don't login to the forums and ask the question (thus go to another site) ....

Cheers

Re: Problem with alphabetical listing of songs

It depends on what search engine each member uses and how they do the search.  Each can search for the artist or  by the song on Chordie, which is a search and no songs are hosted  on Chordie.  If you are still getting the same error message, the try using CCleaner to clear your browser. Here is a link and and download the free version not the paid:

Thanks Roger Guppy works great.

Re: Problem with alphabetical listing of songs

If you get to Chordie from for instance Google, you might get to songs with lower rating. However, coming to a song from browsing through songs/artsts or through internal search, should get you to the best version.

If this does not work, please tell me.

Suggestions on how to make the feature easier to use, is very welcome.
