Topic: THE CHECK OUT

As I drown in a sea of sorrow and regret,

Things I should have done better,

And some not at all.

I stand alone as I wait for the incision/decision

Sharing my gut with any who will listen.

As I wait I must carry on,

Drifting along in a numb haze

As I zombie through my dayz.

Still we must eat,

And the grocery becomes my retreat

The checkout is an un-expecting place

A big bright smile is directed at me,

A saving grace.

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: THE CHECK OUT

I agree with Phill you do make all of us think who read what you wrote. You have a true talent. I always  look forward to your next one.

Music is life, that why our hearts have beats.

Re: THE CHECK OUT

You're reaching down deep, my friend. At a time like this, even the mundane can seem like a lifeline. That smile you got from the check-out person, for instance. Hold on to that.
