Topic: frustrating

On my song  " Almost"    I have a little riff I injected.

When I type it in everything is fine except for  "4th"    (as in 4th string)

It comes out as "4tb"  every time. I have tried to change it a bunch of times. It is the same as it is in chopro on the form page as it is where I saved it in my songbook.

this is what it looks like when I type it

now I’m [C7] almost hopeless ,  it was [B7]almost  never [4th string -2nd fret, 4th string open, 3rd string 2nd fret, 3rd string open ] meant  to [Em]  be

Almost Jim Kenyon

Re: frustrating

Wow, that's just weird.  Sometimes, using alt key codes you can get around a glitch like that but ..., no joy.
H works as a comment {c: H or h} but inserted into the chord brackets [{c: H or h}] , it goes back to "b"s. Hmmmm...
Good luck!

Re: frustrating

Thanks for the comment, I don't think there is an answer that resolves it. sad

Hi Jim,

I may be a 'bug' so I have referred it to Per.

Re: frustrating

Thank You Roger

It's not really a big deal, it's just annoying smile  bc  I can't figure it out -

I have made a dozen or more changes  to this song and finally have it where I like it and I think it really sounds pretty good.
Too bad I can't sing or play worth a lick sad

Thanks for your help again

Re: frustrating

With a scenario like this, I usually put the riff in a 'tab' area, as per the ChordPro specifications; then write it as a usual tab section; eg:

{sot:Riff}
|---------------------------------------------------------
|---------------------------------------------------------
|-11-10-11-10-11-10-11-10-11-10-11-10-11/13-(let ring)----
|---------------------------------------------------------
|---------------------------------------------------------
|---------------------------------------------------------
{eot}

Then where the riff goes, you simply put 'riff' in square brackets ...

HTH!!

Cheers

Richard
