Topic: I Need an introductory to barre chords with an easy song

Im starting barre chords and need an easy song

Re: I Need an introductory to barre chords with an easy song

Start with a song that used barre chords closer to the soundhole, they'll be easier while you're learning

You have to forget about what other people say; when you're supposed to die, when you're supposed to be lovin'. You have to forget about all these things. You have to go on and be crazy. Craziness is like heaven.

Pick one of your favourite songs and play it using barre chords instead of open.

Is anything really made up of zeros and ones??

Re: I Need an introductory to barre chords with an easy song

Pretty much any rock song using I IV V chord progressions.

G C D
A D E
F Bb C
etc

You'll play a barred E shape, and a barred A shape a lot.  This will also help you transpose quite a bit, as it's the same shape and pattern from E to E all the way down the neck.

Someday we'll win this thing...

A few good songs to practice Barre chords:

* Wicked Games - Chris Isaak (E, A, Bm)
* What's Up? - Four Non Blondes (A, D, Bm)
* Sweet Baby James - James Taylor (D, Bm, F#m, G, A)

Good luck!

I learned with Night Moves...gool 'ol CGF about a million times...barre the G and the F (of course), and practice till it hurts!

Re: I Need an introductory to barre chords with an easy song

almost anything by Jack Johnson, in particular "Times like these" and "Flake". Let you me know if you are familiar with the songs and I'll try to help smile
