(CNN)- Antoine "Fats" Domino, a titan of early rock 'n' roll whose piano-based hits -- such as "Ain't That a Shame," "Blueberry Hill" and "Blue Monday" -- influenced artists including Paul McCartney and Randy Newman, died Tuesday, an official said.
Domino passed away due to natural causes, according to Mark Bone, chief investigator with the Jefferson Parish Medical Examiner's office in Louisiana. He was 89

When I was a teen I listened and  danced to Blueberry Hill and Aint that a shame also watched him on TV then in my later years I was playing with a band the "Greenmen" in Shreveport Louisiana and we backed up Fats at the club we were also booked into he was an easy going guy and a great entertainer  RIP "Fats"

Fats influenced a lot of other performers. He started a new sound and it stuck. He will be missed however his music will live on for years to come.

Music is what feelings sound like.

I always loved Fats vocal style. I  call him the Nat King Cole of rock. His  music is a much loved part of my record collection.
