Thanks Jim.  Yeah it shorted or something so I had to move quick.   They got it working again though.  Bad cable I suppose.

It is.  And you have to be ok with the risk of publicly sucking, playing on unfamiliar equipment, playing with people you don't know how to communicate with, etc.  great for skill building though.
