Just gonna let Mr. Leeb speak for himself about this one:
"This one is a LOT of fun to play, but definitely gave me headaches during the writing process. The thing never never did what I wanted it to, always had a mind of its own and resulted in more rewritten and thrown-away material than the last couple of ALBUMS combined. I couldn't really call it "pain in the butt", so I settled for "Trickster"... and hope you like it!"

at about the 2:10 mark I started thinking to myself -" where are the other guitar players and keyboard player" then remembered he was a solo act !
It amazes me that one player, one guitar can make so many cool sounds together simultaneously . I'm happy when I get the transition from G to C correct on a down strum.

Good comments, TIG ... and I'm right with you about only dreaming of having this ability. While it's humbling, it also gets the imagination going about the possibilities.
As good as he is, some of them are hard on a guitar. Guess for them it is a small price to pay for their abilities. I think most of Chordie members take care of the guitars they play.

I agree, CG, that some of them are downright abusive. To think of taking a Lowden (worth upwards of $5,000) and treating it like this make me cringe ... like Jon Gomm's here. However, it is his guitar so he can do whatever he wants with it:

he keeps playing it bc he says he can't find another guitar that produces exactly that sound.

Groovin' along on a summer afternoon in downtown Halifax (one hour from here). Used to love walking the streets and hearing musicians everywhere.
I really enjoyed listening to them - I played several more of their songs. I can only imagine how fantastic that would have been, sitting there in Halifax enjoying a sunny day - with a great sandwich and cold beer as I watched them. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments on last week's post. The number of "Views" continues to climb, so even without comments I'm glad these selections are being watched and enjoyed. Tobias' percussive technique is almost flawless, and he still manages to bring lots of "feel" to his work ... much more than a dexterity exhibition. Gotta be out the door early tomorrow morning, so am posting a bit early.
Not only is Tobias percussive technigue flawless also every other aspect of his playing down to his harmonics bang on every time. Thank you TF for putting me onto him.

He is very good. I just can not get accustomed to someone using a very expensive and good guitar as a drum. Guess if you are paid enough the cost of a guitar is minimal to them. Loved the photo of Willie Nelson. He has aged along with Trigger. Both still sound good though.

Not sure why Antoine always has a handkerchief hanging from his guitar (sweaty hands?) but it's one of those little quirks that a lot of musicians have. He certainly has a beautiful touch on the strings.
I love the way he makes it flow and all the clever subtle bits that are impossible for most guitarist seem effortless. Thank you TF I enjoyed his playing.
