I will definitely "do" Sunday Morning Coming Down, but anyone who wants to hear it is gonna have to come to Madeira Beach!

Yeah like Zurf needs another excuse to go bask in some of that Gulf Coast Sunshine !!! 

So anyone going to have a go at these songs?  I have been away again this last week, so hopefully NO more trips away this month for me, so I can try to record these.

Also I talked to Beamer yesterday and told him Santa Monica is all electric power chords and he ought to take a whack at it.  I hope he will.  It's right up his alley.

I was driving in my car yesterday and Kris Kristoferson sang this song....it was awesome.   

If I had any singing ability I would give it a go.

Hey.  I'm still working on Jack and Diane from April.  I've got the intro to where it's recognizable and reasonably accurate about one out of four times.  I'll keep practicing the intro while I move to the chorus. I may have it ready by August.  :-) 

I'm making good progress on Santa Monica, but am having a really hard time with keeping the rhythm with the G5 power chord and singing.  The G5 is basically playing the tom-tom part of a drummer.  Plus the singing is particularly rhythmic in that song.  Doing two rhythms at once while remembering lyrics is too much for me.  So I've got a guest singer who will be helping me out.  We've been trying for weeks to get together to practice, but his family's schedule and my family's schedule haven't synched up.  I was even thinking of getting a distortion pedal, but am going to forego that expense.  I'll mess around with the settings on my amp a bit though to see if I can get something tasty.

Not good with recording at all.  Getting better about learning how to use microphones, which makes the recording worse.  A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

I'm trying to get Santa Monica nailed down but it's a tricky little bugger. Doing my best though. Hope to do at least a subpar job of it by Monday.

Unlike Zurf and BGD - I never worry about tricky timing bc I have enough trouble just getting the chords close to being right. 
I wouldn't even know what tricky timing looks or sounds like !

Never knew how these people all hung out as young struggling stars - now I do.
Never knew Willie Nelson was such an awesome guitar player - do now !

There is a series of 5 of these that all play one after another.  I totally recommend watching it - it is so intersting.
