Topic: ?!?!?!?
When travelling in the USA, following route 66, I went East in stead of following the mother of all roads.
So, after a short visit in Nashville, seeing incredible "gigs", especially at noon, like a couple playing songs on demand, he was 82 years old and she 83 years old, but Jesus what a harmony, what a performance, they both played acoustic.
In the evening, the lone players we saw at noon were gone, there were groups playing and performing songs, in such a way, that if I was a hot shot in the record industry, I would sign them immediately.
Thinks like that, make me thinking: when do they sign you, what is their motive, MONEY of COURSE, but forget the money here. I saw bands playing from Chicago, over Memphis, Nashville, New Orleans, and most of them play a lot better than big names.
Being in MEMPHIS, after the must-do visit in Graceland, I also went to the famous Beale Street, BUT one of the Highlights was the visit of the GIBSON factory, where the hollowbodies are produced, a must see for every guitar lover. One thing spoiled a lot when visiting this factory, the knowledge that on 10 produced guitars, they "destroyed" 3 on the 10 guitars, in stead of giving them another name: who can tell me more about this?
Second highlight: the SUN studios. They let small groups, not more than 10 people, in the studio, and being a music and guitar freak, they gave demonstrations, like the ELVIS song about the hounddog, seemed to be a 100% copy about a "... cat". They also told that the biggest concurrent was JERRY LEE LEWIS, his songs, his performance, should reach more than Elvis, wasn't it that his career was destroyed by his "love life" with very young girls, like when he married that 13 year old girl who was even family. The started to boycott him, and his star disappeared more and more.
So, what I mend was that people at the sun studio told me that if it wasn't because of his turbulent life, he might have been bigger than Elvis
- MY GUITAR PLAYS EVERY STYLE = BLUES, ROCK, METAL, so I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY IT.
