Hello all! I have a gorgeous Hondo H35 and am unsure what it's made of?
Wood...... Just being funny [insert chuckle here]. Actually that Dread was one of the Martin clones and most likely would have been built out of the same species as the Martin it was modeled after. Spruce top, Mahogany sides and back, Rosewood or Ebony fretboard. As I recall they were fairly nice guitars with very good sound and quality, right up there with the ones they were trying to emulate. A "Keeper" !!
I found a '78 Hondo hummingbird at a pawn shop for 50 bucks,, It's a keeper...

I've owned a Hondo mandolin but none of their guitars. As I recall the older ones were actually made by Samick in Korea. I've played a few Samicks and have always been impressed by the sound and build for the price. As the world's largest guitar maker, they build a lot of entry level guitars for several big names.
