Topic: SUGGESTIONS: JANUARY 2017 FEATURED SONG OF THE MONTH

Ok everyone, for Suggested FSOM for January 2017  (can you believe it, nearly 2017 already!)  we will be doing 2 songs once again. 

FIRSTLY, we are looking for Suggestions from you the members, of any ORIGINAL SONG written by CHORDIE MEMBERS.  Yes, that’s right, we want to hear YOUR suggestions of an Original Song that you think one of our members has written that would be great to perform.  One that you think has potential, that you think is just different, that you think is particularly well written, that you just love everything about it, that you would like to listen to yourself or others performing.  It can be for any reason! 
You will find plenty of Original Songs from our talented Chordie Members if you visit the SONGWRITING THREAD here in the Forum.  Just pop over there, have a look and see what songs you think you would like to suggest.  Then come back here to this thread and put enter your suggestion.  You can suggest more than one song if you like, you may have a few original songs you like or just can`t decide which one you fancy the most.   
Towards the end of the month, we will put ALL suggestions INTO THE HAT and draw one out which will be ONE of the FSOM for January.
Have fun choosing and Suggesting an Original Song and we look forward to seeing what gets chosen.

SECONDLY, we the Moderators, are going to choose a Song from previously unchosen Suggested Songs.    There are still so many good song suggestions from previous months, we thought we would pick a song from one of those.   We will reveal towards the end of the month which one it will be. 

So start making your suggestions.

easybeat, .... definately ...... got any you would like to suggest for us?  You can even suggest your songs if you want, it doesn`t have to be someone else`s  ........ or you can suggest your own songs and someones else`s songs ......... it will all be going in the hat smile

it seems many of the covers for SOTM are coming from
the chordie songwriters,so may as well support them by picking
their original songs as SOTM.

I vote for Graham's song as well . 
I probably wouldn't be able to  give it a go   as my voice is completely shot from Basketball games and practice right now. However, I think it is a classic  - great lyrics. I would look forward to hearing renditions from all of the real musicians on chordie. 

Speaking of good musicians- anyone heard from Kim Noble? She did a nice rendition of one of my songs and I know she was working on someone else's...but   I have not seen anything from her lately.

We have a brand new song from "upsidedown-n-backwards" here. http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic. … 28#p179028 He asked for help in arranging it and several people made suggestions. At this point in time it hasn't been recorded; as far as I know. I think this would be a great song for everyone to play since there are no preconceived notions as to how it should sound. So I would like to nominate it for January Song of the Month.

I just did a little searching in the Songwriting section myself - I really liked this one by Mojo (no name song):  http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=30300
I think he did a nice job on his recording, but with such simple chords, it could be done a bunch of different ways (even Beamer could get in on this one I think).

I know... it's JANUARY already!  Since everyone had a busy schedule the last few weeks, I'll leave this open another day or two for any last minute suggestions.  We'll shut this down and pick some songs soooooon!  So, if you've got a suggestion - get it in before it's closed!
