F A E F B E

Thats a mess!

The half step between the E and the F makes me think that this is not an E chord.  That would be a flat 2, which is gonna sound odd.

A B E is an Asus2, though.  F would be the dominant 7th for an A7 chord.   So I'm calling it some form of A.

So A7sus2?

Someday we'll win this thing...

Re: Can ANyone Name This Chord?????

the chords in the song go........

E - MYSTERY CHORD - A - B7

E - MYSTERY CHORD - A

WHAT CHORD SOUNDS LIKE THAT ONE BUT IS CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE WAY IT SOUNDS....IF IT'S EASIER THEN I'LL TRY THAT ONE.

Re: Can ANyone Name This Chord?????

E A B is a common I IV V progression, which enforces my guess as an A chord, I think.    You should get a similar flavor from the mystery chord as you do with the B7, as they both contain the flattened major 7 of each.

Re: Can ANyone Name This Chord?????

this is E/F#     often this is a transition chord in changing from E to A.
The A string should be muted and the B and high E are played open

Give everything but up.

Re: Can ANyone Name This Chord?????

I'd like to name it steve, after myself, but since you discovered it, i suppose we can call it rooster

A/F#

E-----------------------------

The chord above is an F#minor seventh and can also be notated as a slash chord A/F# (an A major chord with an F# in the bass).

No matter what you call it, it SOUNDS the same.

The most common name for this chord is an F#m7.
