Topic: tips to progress

i would really appreciate it if anyone could give me some practice exercises or tips for acoustic and electric guitar. i.ve mastered general strumming a barr chords but seem to be stuck in a rut as far as advanced techniques go. all welcome thanks.

Learn every chord shape for a given chord anywhere on the neck.

Find every A.  Then every B.  Then every C, etc...

The play their associated scales, all the way down the neck.

Someday we'll win this thing...

Hey Theo,
I don't know how advanced you are but if you want to master some advanced skills you can always try learning the basics of theory. What makes a chord, scales, neck notes especially. If you know what note is where you can easily construct chords and do some really great picking. Don't bury yourself under theory though. The point is enjoyment afterall! I still think what makes a great guitarist is passion for your instrument and music. But a little basic knowledge will definately help you!
