I know Mothers day is a different date around the world! As is Fathers Day!
International womans day as far as i know was started in New York!
These reminder days usually come about from injustice of one kind or other. Easter/ Christmas/ and others are based on religious festivities!
A Great male friend of mine started "Men in violent Relationships" Its not only Men who can be violent YUK.
Men and Woman can break more then one anothers hearts! Its often a jaw or Stab wounds! Personally i have never experienced this but my work sometimes takes me into the Horrifying realms of how people both "Men and Woman" can do this to each other in the name of love? so these days are a great reminder of the non acceptance of injustice against male or female! On the other hand its right to celebrate the Good Fathers /Mothers for their input to good family relationships.! Unfortunately commericialism jumps on the bandwagon here!
On a lighter note "St Patricks Day " Is the best! Loads of diddlyie Music, Shamrocks, Red wigs, Green Beer! another great excuse for a hooley!
Not forgetting "The Great Ould Dublin Coddle" Sure you'd leave home for a good bowl of that Dish! Now why would i say that? Could it be something to do with being 100% Irish? ah! i dont think so!!
