Would YOU like to be the one to pick the song of the month for August?

In July, we had everyone put in their suggestions for what song should be chosen.  The songs that were chosen were those that were the most popular.  In previous months, this whole thing was just getting started.  We want to MIX things up and keep it interesting!  So, this month we decided... why not pick a PERSON and then let YOU pick the song???


If YOU would like to choose the next Featured Song of the Month

Reply to this thread with something interesting that indicates your desire! 
No need to pick the song yet! 
Just enter your name in this thread for a chance to WIN your choice of song!

Examples: "PICK ME!  PICK ME!"
"I want to pick the song"
"Tomatoes are fruits.  Drop my name in the hat please!." 
*or whatever imaginable thing you can add that also includes something that makes it clear that you want a chance to choose the next FSOTM!  big_smile


Everyone that posts in this thread indicating their desire will have their name "placed in a hat" and the name will be randomly chosen.  If you are chosen, you then get to choose the song of the month!  The winner will be chosen and their name posted in this thread by mid to end July.  The winner must submit the ONE song of their choice for the song of the month by the end of the Month.

Due to my lack of getting everything up here this month in a timely manner (again, I am soooooo sorry!!!!)  We might set up some specific dates for getting your name into the "hat" as well as posting the chosen song.  Depending on how things roll this month with TWO songs, we might even pick TWO people to choose songs for August!

I agree with Roger. I'm also a fan of two songs per month so how about some Bob Marley? Redemption Song or Three Little Birds?

As we move forward keep in mind; you don't necessarily need to post your choice of songs. Just throw your name in to the hat as the person who will choose the songs.

Instead of one of the mods picking the song, we'll choose a person from the ones that responded. Then that person will pick their own song for everyone to cover.  smile

But just to let you know, Suggested Featured Song of the Month for August this time around, is being run a little differently to last month.  This time members just have to enter your name in here, not song choices, and then towards the end of the month, all the names will go in a hat and the name that is drawn out, will get to pick the song for August.  So if your name gets picked out of the hat, then you can pick your song of choice and then everyone who wants to participate will all perform your song.

I've changed the thread title a little, and added some color to the original post up above there.  Remember, all we're doing this time around is Taking Names.  No need to enter your suggestion for the song.  Just enter your name if you'd like to have your Name Placed In The Hat and towards the end of the month, 1 or 2 people will be chosen!  After we announce the WINNERS, you can then let everyone know what song you've chosen!
