Welcome too the forum if you go to the public books look and find misc songs  press it and you will find easy songbooks in there.

Well I have one that night work in the period that you specified...... Written by Yup, Willie Nelson, I would use The Platters' version of "Only You".  Good vocal harmonies, not too difficult chords and an easy beat without need for any fancy guitar fills.  Most folks would know it and likely "sing along" so if you don't exactly sound like the original, nobody will notice. Recorded and Released in 1953.

Anybody want to add other selections?
